Roksanda Ilincic Inspired Dress

I thought that I would try a designer 'inspiration' dress, and I have been a fan of the color blocking of Roksanda Ilinicic.  I particularly liked this $1600 wool dress:

And thought I would give it a try . . . .

I know that the back is a little wrinkly, but I am rather pleased with this dress.  I think that I may well be making a number of others!!

Lots more details and photos over on my blog

Urgh, I give up.  I have no idea why Blogger keeps adding extra lines in between photos they don't show up on my draft, and it drives me nuts :(

Edit - thanks L, looks as though I had a few of those pesky < / b r > floating around.  I deleted them, and now everything is in line.  You have no idea how much time this will save me!!!

    1. Thanks! I have been following Carolyn's blog (Diary of a Sewing Fanatic) and I love what she does with knock-off's/inspiration. And it is pretty neat to be able to say that your dress is based upon one that costs $100's/$1000's!!

  2. Great knockoff! As BeaJay said, it's wonderful to be able to draw inspiration from a garment and make it your own. Well done.

As for the extra breaks, you can physically remove them by switching the view from 'Compose' to 'HTML'. If you're not familiar with looking at HTML code, you may be a little freaked out by what you see. If you can handle looking at the code, search the body of the code for your images and look for the break symbol < / b r >. I put extra spaces here to keep blogger from reading the tag. Delete only this symbol (in as many places as necessary) and you should be fine.

  3. Very cute dress, but $1600???? The reason why I sew! I love your version!!! What pattern did you use or was it self drafted?

    1. I know. The price is crazy. Makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside because you just know that yours will be better finished off!
