A new jacket for my wardrobe...
...I don't use independent patterns often, but fell in love with Pauline Alice's jacket pattern at first sight. I worked on it diligently finishing it three weeks time; a record for me as it usually takes me a full month to make a tailored jacket. Did I mention that I love this jacket and have already worn it three times since completing it.
The jacket wore well, was VERY comfortable and is a real winner as it will go well with lots of things I already have. I plan on putting it into
regular rotation for the balance of our winter season.
You can read more about the construction process on my blog if interested. I also made a matching skirt for the jacket now on to the next project...

OMG! you look fabulous. I love your jacket! Bravo!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful jacket! I also do not use many independent patterns but because of your postings and how wonderful you look in the finished jacket, I am definitely going to add it to my wish list. It could almost be seasonless, depending on the fabric used. I can just see it in a linen/cotton blend, or even a lightweight denim, for Spring, and even in a silk tweed, for dressier occasions. Just fabulous!
ReplyDeletenice! I've never heard of the Independent patterns, love how it turned out, it looks great on you!

ReplyDeleteGreat job Faye! I was thinking the same thing as Nancy. I'm not really into the independent patterns, but I would love to have a jacket like that. It looks beautiful!
