The...I think it depends on the size of the stripe. The pattern on your fabric looks small enough to be comfortably (and stylishly) worn going across. Kristine shows how fantastically knocked off a dress using horizontal black & white stripes. Her blog post is here: http://kbdesigns74.blogspot.com/2013/02/the-b-dress-finale-picture-heavy.html. I say go for it.

Lhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18384050927297629715noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-727198818896967350.post-48434480344017067352013-05-15T15:06:50.401-07:002013-05-15T15:06:50.401-07:00that's what I'm saying Diane, up & dow... that's what I'm saying Diane, up & down just looks kinda lizzard to me lol!
HelenNannahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02491593460770080211noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-727198818896967350.post-27249711962790732292013-05-15T13:39:44.425-07:002013-05-15T13:39:44.425-07:00it definitely goes across!!!it definitely goes across!!!sewdianehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09063380255221057297noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-727198818896967350.post-85194051053745872692013-05-15T10:19:54.713-07:002013-05-15T10:19:54.713-07:00thanks Awilda, planing on making it this weekend, ...thanks Awilda, planing on making it this weekend, have to get a root canal Fri. ouch! so I'd better get started on it today lol!
HelenNannahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02491593460770080211noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-727198818896967350.post-85612717177120433082013-05-15T06:54:19.075-07:002013-05-15T06:54:19.075-07:00Oh you just made my morning, LOl. See where most of the stretch goes and that normally goes across. Having said that - one of the main reasons I am loathe to cut into the pieces I have (other than the cost of the fabric LOL) is that horizontal stripes and me don't go together well!!! I sit back and say to myself - why on earth did I buy this expensive fabric when it is not going to flatter me. The answer - because I love it.

Sew it how you want to sew it and wear it with pride. There are some great Chevron looks out there. Eager to see your skirt.BeaJayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14071033898844018967noreply@blogger.com
